Bubbly big voice singer Mandisa @ "Mandiva" inadvertently got the boot this week….sad but true.

Well, just because she faltered in Shania Twain’s Any Man of Mine, Americans weren’t so forgiving of her one not so good performance her fans especially, didn’t vote enough to keep her till at least the Top 5. I’d thought she had a straight chance like season 1’s Tamyra, season 2’s Trenyce, season 3’s LaToya and last season’s Vonzell who all stayed till at least Top 5. Looks like they could probably bring Paris the way..which I wasn’t very keen seeing her stay more than Mandisa. I really like her voice and I played the song over and over again, it’s actually isn’t horrible like what Simon commented it was. There goes another favourite gone. I’ll be rooting for Chris & Katharine finale, Kellie at least 3rd place..sorry lah hehe..I’m beginning to wonder she’s indeed too naive to be true on screen.

Notebook survey

Wednesday, April 5th, 2006

Today morning went to college to apply for my results transcript. Going to Lau Yat later with Shion Chung, Teng & Chung Yen together to check on our ultimate selection of notebooks to bring to the UK. Happened to bump into Wee Sheng whom I wanted to meet long time ago but couldn’t make it twice earlier on due to unforseen circumstances.

I’m only eyeing on Toshiba, which had the best..not in terms of price bargains but the quality is definitely guaranteed compared to other brands. Found a few affordable ones…at least RM3k. Was hoping to get a nice 128MB Graphics card in it but that at least costs RM5k which was way over my budget. Anyway, am just bringing it for 3 months only so I shouldn’t fancy such high requirements. What matters the most was I can use it without any problems whatsoever.

Went to this coffee shop across Lau Yat for lunch. Out of nowhere, came an old man with totally white beards tapped on my shoulder, begging for money. I looked at him, doesn’t seemed to be physically disabled at all and rejected giving him any. You have legs and hands and you don’t look that old, you do not deserve my sympathy as you can work with your very own bare hands. Teng who ordered a big bowl of mee couldn’t finish it and the leftover was really a big amount of it. Once we left the table, the old man who was begging from other patrons few feet away suddenly dashed to our table and uninvitedly finished up Teng’s leftover mee. We looked in disbelief. For a minute there, I don’t know should I pity the state he was in, or deemed it really pathetic with what he just did….

Differences between girls and guys

Wednesday, April 5th, 2006

I came across this which I thoughtfitted perfectly both genders through Mel’s blog which she took from her friends’ blog which I’m taking it here..hehe..hope you don’t mind ya ;P

1.Girls are very romantic. They like to talk about love.

2.Guys are very shy when it comes to talking about their feelings.

3.Girls like to discuss problems. They like to talk about their problems with just about anyone who will listen. They especially like to discuss these things with their boyfriend.

4.Guys do not like to discuss their problems. They especially don’t like to discuss them with their girlfriend. They feel that it isn’t cool to even have problems, let alone discuss them.

5.Guys love to feel needed.

6.Girls love to feel beautiful and adored.

7.Girls feel safe when their boyfriend is strong and confident.

8.Guys feel good when their girlfriend feels safe with them.

9.Girls like to give advice and think it makes them helpful and therefore more loveable.

10.Guys don’t like to get advice from their girlfriend because they feel like it means she thinks he can’t solve things on his own.

11.Girls feel better after talking to their friends about their problems.

12.Guys feel better after solving their problems on their own.

13.Girls,even though they say they want love and attention, have a difficult time receiving these things.

14.Guys have an equally difficult time giving. They aren’t selfish:they are frightened of doing something wrong.

15.Guys feel bad when girls are unhappy. They fear it is their fault.

16.Girls tend to exaggerate their problems by saying things like never and always. They are just trying too hard to be understood.

This might be one of the most important ones in this list:

When things are going great in a relationship, guys like to back away for a while.Girls,of course, think this means they don’t love them anymore, and they get upset. The more upset they get,the more the guy wants to back away.

Girls:Try to let the guy back away without freaking out,and he will come back to you more in love with you than he was before. When a guys needs his space,a girl should just hang with her girlfriends,or do something she enjoys, and let him be.The guy will be so impressed that she didn’t get all weird that he think she is the best thing that ever happenned to him.

Guys:If a guy can listen when his girlfriend is upset and not get defensive, holding her and telling her everything will be okay, then she will think he is the best thing that ever happened to her.

Remember,we are very different and we are also the same.We all have feelings, and we all want to feel loved. That is the bottom line. This list isn’t for playing games or manipulating your partner. It is so you can understand the person you love better and do a better job of making that person feel special and happy…

I didn’t know all some of the poems and blogs you posted were directed to me. Neither did I realise you had  a major crush on me back then. I kinda suspected but I was never bold enough to step up to you and open my reluctant mouth to approach on this matter. I admitted I do have feelings for you. But the being the extremely shy guy I was, I could not bring myself to confess first before you did. Why? Because I wanted to wait till I get myself a steady job first before I make the move. Because I’m afraid to commit myself into a relationship now that I’m still bounded by my parents. Because I felt I wasn’t really prepared.

Then again, I told myself I’d find you after I’ve got a good pay and serene life in a couple of years time, when you’re single and available. But that’s a stupid man only to procrastinate his feelings further and further.

I actually felt happy when she broke up with her ex-boyfriends which meant I might have the chance…but it isn’t for long till she found and settle another one and I’m back to square one. And recently she popped up the question that faithful day. We liked each other all these years, but never got to the bottom of it..simply because we’re shy to admit. Regret is the only thing we can take blame…for now it’s too late.

Nevertheless, I won’t give up once I’m successful. She’d still have a place in my heart forever.

Oh dang…poor sweet 16 year old Lisa Tucker leaves us this week..

Wmplayer_20060404_01305693

Shocking as it seems, Katharine McPhee was also in the bottom with her, who didn’t sound too bad with X-tina’s The Voice Within wat..bottom 2 sumore..along with Ace Young. Ace, I could understand why..so was Lisa, no doubt she’s one of the better finalists and the judges’s favourite and so was mine in the earlier stages but since last week, she started getting lost in her performances. She tried to regain her position which she thought would boost her ranking, attempting Kelly’s popular hit Because Of You but failed to impress the judges when she somehow struggled with the higher registrations in the middle, and that didn’t leave any room for the US to sympathise her and immediately she was booted. Sigh..but then again she’s still young and she’s got a lot of things ahead for her. Who knows she might impress one of the producers and have her own album recorded when she’s older. All the best to ya Lisa!!

Minor mishap on the way back from Ipoh….

Monday, April 3rd, 2006

This week’s Qing Ming (All Souls Day), which means many of the Chinese would return back to their hometown to pay homage to the elders who passed away. It’s been a tradition kept instilled into the younger generation many many years ago and hopefully the customs wouldn’t fade itself many many years in the future. Went back to Ipoh this week to pray my grandma. As usual got all the praying stuffs, incense, joss sticks, praying paper of all types of transformation from Mercedes, Rolex to the latest communication devices…all offerings to the otherworld to sort of furnish them a little more entertainment to their afterlives.

Sun morning, the this temple in Bercham where grandma was buried was filled with hundreds of people. It was packed at the altar with people and smokes from the joss sticks and candles billowing thickly in that crowded sport. Did all the necessary procedures and left the place soon as afternoon sunlight came with a tremendous heat too.

Left for Kuala Lumpur about 4.30pm. Gosh, it was rather congested all the way back to Kuala Lumpur with cars trailing one another at very near distance. The rest were probably returning after Qing Ming as well. Along the way, dad was practically pulling big yawns on the wheel and mum was already reprimanding him on it. We passed Tanjung Malim’s rest area not very long ago when dad lead his eyelids closed for a spot second and the next thing we knew, mum screamed at dad and a thud was felt forward. Dad was still blurred by the whole thing, he quickly got out and I saw he had rammed his bonnet with a Waja’s boot. The Waja wasn’t badly damaged though, only slight dentation on the right whereas dad’s Wira…aiyoh..the middle was completely sunk in..the number plate bent into two and water gushing out of smokes evoloping out from the tank. The radiator was totally smashed, which means a tow truck is needed to move the car.

1st pic: The condition of the car as it was. Notice the pool of water below from the broken radiator. 2nd pic: The plate number and middle portion sunk in.

The Waja with a slight dent on the right.

It was fortunate for the Waja driver was a really nice person from Klang. He never showed any hostility at us and offer to settle the loss professionally. Can’t imagine if we were to bump into those who curse, swear and point their middle fingers at you without even coming into sane terms. And thank god this Wira belonged to dad’s company which means whatever damages and losess sustain in the event are all paid by them and the corporated insurance company on full account. If it was under dad’s possession…hoho..could even possibly burn a hole in his wallet which I presume at least RM1k to clear.

It took 3 hours for the tow truck to finally arrive as the jam on the road never help with the already terrible evening. By the time we made police report and settled some claims with the car workshops, we got back home approximately 1am. What a day, this accident had definitely shaken us up well and at the same time reminded a clear sign to everyone out there;

If you’re sleepy on the wheel, please deter your journey to the nearest rest area to wash yourself up or have a short nap before continuing on. Remember, the person who’s behind the wheels, the passengers are all in the hands of you.
