Happy Chinese Dog Year 2006!!

Monday, January 30th, 2006

Ah…it’s been weeks since I last entered an account to my blog, finally manage to settle down in front of the comp to scribble off something. First and foremost, a very Happy Chinese New Year to everyone..may the year of the dog brings another great year ahead, business flows smoothly and relationships are started off well.

It’s a rather quiet here this year…less firecrackers sounds..guess the enforcements really did their job well should I say. On the first day, the usual visiting to my mum’s aunt’s place, after that back to my cousin’s place. Later that very day, caught Jet Li’s Fearless. The movie potrayed very much his character as Fok Yuen Kap, the legendary kung-fu master who founded Cheng Wu and swayed pretty much away from Wong Fei Hong. The action flicks are great but it could be a dissapointment for those who hoped for a good guys winning at the end which is not what this movie’s about. I’d say very much on the history of the great kung-fu master.

Today, went to meet up with Dina, Kanesh & his bro at Paandi’s. Barely had any plans in our hands..shops and outlets are still shut. Dina wanted to get the anti-virus CD so we decided to drop by Amcorp Mall but unfortunately practically every departmental stores are close..except that I noticed..the cineplex, fast food, Watsons and Guardian..which are surprisingly opened. Had lunch at McDs. Then Kanesh suggested we take stroll down Brickfields. Gosh..the heat these few days are overwhelming..we ordered lots of drink..as much as I counted..at least 3 different types LOL. By 3pm, we decided to call it a day as me & Dina were getting sleepy and to put up with the tremendous heat..made matters worst. Will have another gathering when the rest returns from their hometown.

American Idol season 5; auditions in Chicago & Denver

Sunday, January 22nd, 2006

An incredible rating premier for the first episode of the fifth season in the US with over 35 million viewers, breaking record from the previous one. Amazing, I was thinking ratings perhaps could slip a little seeing reality shows displayed signs of decrement of audience but wasn’t for this case. First audition in Chicago, Illinois had some decent contestants but I don’t see any favourites yet so far. Noticed many like this crooner guy;

Davidradford

Hm…I really don’t fancy crooners..cos to me they don’t exactly belt out the best. Which reminds me of last years 5th placer Scott Savol..he was the only one I thought didn’t deserve to be in the Top 12 spot.

Oh..for the god of love..I couldn’t believe it..almost to the end of the show, Randy & Paula actually said YES to this ding-a-dong asshead;

Davidhoover

He sings like an ass that cracks in the hole and prances like a retard with the capital R, period. What’s up with Randy..he actually said yes to him??? Give me a break. Let’s see how he fairs in Theatre, bet he’s gonna get the embarassment of his life competing with so many other talent singers who are way above his level.

Move over to the auditions at Denver, Colorado. I set my eyes on these 2 girls whom I believe could make very far.

Lisatucker

Similar to 3rd seasons’ runner-up Diana DeGarmo, both did at the age of 16.

Heathercox

I love the way she sang You Raise Me up..stunned me..well..probably she’s really pretty hehe..can’t wait to see more of her airtimes in Theatre and hopefully makes me more convinced to root for her.

That’s about it from 2 locations, so far no strong contender from the guys like Anthony Fedorov’s power ballad, we’ll see what there’ll be to offer from North Carolina, Queensboro this Wed.

8TV’s 2nd Anniversary at 1U

Wednesday, January 18th, 2006

Look how time flies. Our latest terrestrial channel station, 8TV is already 2 years old. Consider it the best station channel for us, offering almost the latest tv dramas from the US. The 8TV quickies hosts Adam, Marion, Rina & Phat Fabes have excellent skills of keeping us entertained with their funny antics and perfectory command of English. They had created a cute baby mascot, which I actually mistaken it as Jack-Jack from the Incrdibles (seriously, they both so similar lah…probably the concept there is being taken but altered)

It was a 2 day event at 1U which started from 1pm onwards, with the MI season 1 and 2 performing on both days. Dina, Vick, Daniel & Nita on Sat while Zamil, Rydee, Farah & Jac on Sun. Could only manage to catch Daniel, Nita, Farah & Jac performed. Save the last for the best…which was indeed very true when Jac did Angels, The Prayer with Zamil & Gemilang. Her superbly flawless vocal captivated the crowd more than ever.

A day of boring event..

Thursday, January 12th, 2006

Well, I thought of going to Times Square to catch S.H.E perform, turned out we left 30 minutes after the show started..reason was we’re way too far behind the stage and we can hardly make up anything they said and the ‘wide’ screen tv was just..not big enough. And I pretty much despised the way they handled the security. It’s as if we’re prisoners..being in line for marching practice or something. F***kers. Stood out a little from the freaking straight line and threaten us to leave. The hell with themlah. Instead, went ’shopping’ entire day at Sg. Wang. If there’s one thing I learnt now about Ostrova having any similarities to gals are…this guy can really take his time and shop till I dropped…LOL.

Mel called in the night to express her disatisfaction of not getting the job at his mum’s place since there was only 1 vacancy available. Thank god the boss raised her pay today in this current job in a printing company, good for ya! =)

The good old memories..

Watched the MI 2 Grand Finale results on Sun…ah..just brings back the old memories when I was cheering and screaming for the Idols back then. Remembered I started going to SP2 since the Top 5, encouraged by priest. It was fun..having to know so many ppl from the BH forum, made so many new friends in person..all because we share the same passion and interest, our love in Malaysian Idol. Enjoyed every seond of activities I did with the Farahnatics. The cheers and screams for our favourite Idol, would never thought of trading it with anything else.

Reunion dinner with old friends

Monday, January 9th, 2006

Myn had asked for a little outing on Sat afternoon at The Curve. Got Aris to pick me up from Kelana Jaya station. There’s one weird thing about having people to pick me up from the LRT station…is always having to end up on the wrong side of the road where they’re waiting. Really drives me mad everytime I got at down at this side instead of crossing the bridge over the other side, they’ll be waiting the other side LOL..sigh. Priest then smsed saying he wanted to go as well, so we waited right in front of Summit Hotel, admist the heavy jam. Finally reached around 2.30pm, from the original 1pm planned. Waited at Starbucks, till blur old Myn who was talking on the phone with Aris didn’t even perasan she went pass us LOL. Seemed that Ivy, Ostro and Mandy were busy playing shooting the cans down, hoping to grab the grand prize of any handphones of your choice displayed at the booth. Sounds really good deal so I tried once but unfortunately didn’t topple everything on the floor.

Went to the food court for lunch, ordered Korean chicken teriyaki, which looked so much lesser than the picture itself…gosh. Yumi joined us after lunch. Went to Safari park to check out the pets..cute hamsters and rabbits of all sorts. Next, we stepped into the exotic section, where there’s this guy stood with a snake wrapped around his neck. Myn was really reluctant to get near him LOL..understandable..it’s a snake right in front of her ler. The guy approached us, Myn wanted to back out pretty much but we stopped her…convincing her there’s nothing harmful about it. He started explaining in full description of a snake, the maintenance, the food etc. Comparing with cats and dogs, it’s way much easier to care for a snake. As he went on, our anxiousness had gotten level and soon everyone was stroking the little snake, it’s pale cold scaled-skin. Even Myn, who was getting chills all over in front of the snake wasn’t hesitant to do so, heh.

Gotta get back for tonight’s 7pm dinner at Cable Car. Mum picked me up at 6pm, got back home to shower and prepare. Picked Kanesh and his bro first and then Ka Ken. Been months since we last met Ka Ken. Arrived around 7 plus in front of Cable Car. Peeped into the restaurant to see if Dina and Edward have arrived yet. Nope. So we asked for a table of 6 while waited for them. Took them at least an hour to finally reached. Before that, Ka Ken decided to play a little prank by calling Edward, pretending he was a clerk from the bank enquiring a loan for him LOL. Finally we could call for our orders.

After dinner, went to Sri Hartamas…settle for some desserts at a mamak. The night scenery was beautiful, great scope for a few shots on my hp. It was still early so we decided to stroll around Bangsar. Dina wanted to go so badly that we needed to find a loo fast..ended up in McDs. As we chatted, a middle-aged man passed us with this big expanded hair..LMAO..it was so funny…we laughed hysterically..picture Albert Einstein in that hairdo LOL. Called it a day as we had nowhere else to go..took Kanesh and bro back while Dina dropped Edward & Ka Ken respectively.

Some informalities…

Thursday, January 5th, 2006

Well I hadn’t told this to anyone else..except only one person who knew what I was down with. Had no idea where or how I got it from the first place. Been stretching for 2 weeks plus now.

I’m down with some skin disorders..fungus infection or some sort..My entire body is full of rashes like scars..everywhere..my back, my stomach, my legs and arms…yes even approaching there..the thighs. I don’t know what I touched or ate but the itchiness grew and well..couldn’t stand the thought of scratching (which of course I eventually did anyway) it ended up all over my body. Mum was so concerned that it could be HIV+ (cos of that Rumah Soleha kids voluntary word which I carry them in Zoo Negara)..Sigh..sometimes they can get overeacted at such petty stuffs..I mean like duh..HIV+ isn’t infectious through the touch of skinlah..and I clearly remembered there were not cuts in my legs or arms that came contact with them so that’s totally out of the question.

Anyway..went for doctor’s checkup..did blood and urine test..for incasional lah..doc just said it was fungus infecion..probably something I’ve came in contact outdoor or something out of ordinary I’ve consumed..but I’ve remembered clearly I didn’t eat anything different nor was I allergic to seafood that sort of stuffs. At one point, I did have a lot of peanut butter..but that wasn’t biggie..cos I had that last time and I was fine. But I had to defer eating that when I was very much younger cos of my sensitive skin. But that disappeared as I grew older and I was able to eat them again. Keeps me thinking on and on what was it that causes all this rashes like throughout my body??? Doc gave some meds and cream to apply. Did that and thank got it subsided.

Then a week ago, both my palms grew bubble all over it..you knew..those type where you pinch them…there’s water in them. Was more than surprised..what’s happening to my skinlah..my other parts baru nak clear off now my hands pula..and there were itchy. The next day some new rashes stretched all the down from my palm to my elbow..down to the armpits..What the hell did I eat wronglah..it’s so clear signs of allergies but I DON"T HAVE ANY ALLERGIES IN MY LIFE!! Went to the doc again..and asked what I did eat..manalah tau..I didn’t eat anything other than I usually do wat..don’t know how trace what wasn’t I suppose to eat..Sigh..meds and cream again.. Applied…again they dissolved. But I’m fearful they might reappear anythime again. So for the time being, I stopped eating anything to do with nuts.

Attention ppl!

I’ve uploaded the New Year countdown which I took with my hp at Sg. Wang in this blog above. Have a watch, it’s a 5 minutes long clip with beautiful displays of fireworks. You won’t regret loading it ;).

2nd day of New Year

Tuesday, January 3rd, 2006

Pretty much slept through the first day of New Year..after being tired partying the day before LOL. Had planned to catch Wallace & Gromit with Kanesh & Dina but Kanesh had something on so we moved in on Tues. Dina offered to drive us. I was like..whoa..he finally stepped up to the challenge. We’re all so anxious to feel what it’s like being in his car..wondering what cateory of a driver is he gonna be..the f1 or f2 (which means totally opposite of it LOL). Kanesh smsed to tell that he obtained free complimentary passes to watch any show..which sounded better!

About 12pm, my mum dropped me, Kanesh and his bro in front of Dina’s grandma’s house. His Honda City is parked stationery at the side, begging for the owner to ride on her LOL. Dina said he’s still relatively rusty on the roads and he isn’t very familiar to the route to 1U therefore we decided to watch at Pyramid. It was funny watching Dina did you know..when you first learn to drive..the procedures..you strapped on your seat belt, adjusted the rearview mirror all those mini minors LOL. And off we went. Quickly took out my hp to record the journey..can’t afford to miss..I mean it’s Dina driving! XD

Reached Pyramid in one piece hehe..so bad..sounded as if he’s driving was that bad =P. When we got to the cinema, quite a long queue forming. Changed our minds of catching King Kong but the next show’s only at 4.45pm. Dina has to get back by 7pm so there’s no way it’ll end on time. So I thought of going back to Wallace as the next show is 3.20pm. Cheaper By The Dozen 2 was also at 3.20pm…which we eventually ended up watching.

It was a very so-so movie..won’t find any climax anywhere..the usual happy ending but there’s a very funny scene where the dads are spying on their kids in the cinema. That’s the best part of the entire film. And can’t help for there’s these bloody 2 annoying buggers commenting too loud behind us..most probably ah bengs who spoke like nobody’s business in the midst of the movie. If you really comment, do it softerlah for heaven sake. Really felt like telling their butts off but of course..wouldn’t want to cause unnecessary scene. Tahan saje..tahan saje. Right when the credits started rolling, quickly turned my back to see that 2 idiots..but they already left. What assholes..bet they must be one of those cinema jumpers.

Happy New Year 2006!!!

Monday, January 2nd, 2006

Wow…what a blast I have on New Year’s eve night..definitely the best I’ve ever felt for the past 4 years (save for last year’s super dull due to the tsunami mourning). Needless to say, it was raining throught the entire morning and afternoon..already partly dampening the mood of celebrating New Year’s eve. By 7pm, the rain still wouldn’t stop. One minute, it went poured like anything…a few seconds later, it subsided..then started pouring again..then subsided..like it’s neverending. But I have a strong feeling that it’d eventually stopped altogether before the clock striked 12.

Priest’s parents came to pick me up at 7 plus. Had dinner at a nearby coffeeshop. Then they dropped us at Taman Bahagia station where we will meet up with Ostro at KLCC. Planned to catch Daniel & Nita live from 8TV for the Petronas Outreach countdown. In the train, we started smsing New Year messages to our friends…for sure when it’s closer to midnight, the line’s gonna be packing jammed. Reached KLCC, called Ostro on his whereabouts..at Avenue K’s Burger King..which is the first outlet next to the station on the right. Met some familiar faces and some new ones too..all Daniel’s fans for obvious reasons. Before we entered Burger King, we noticed they were people selling the RM8.80 Maxis simcards at the underground walkway to KLCC and since it’s the last of promotion, priest & I decided to share out the value. When he activated it right at the spot, card only displayed RM4..what happened to the remaing RM24?? We thought probably it’d automatically add the value later but for confirming purposes, we decided to ask the gals who sold the simcard to us. To our shock, they had already left. Wth…

Thank god the rain had stopped when we got up to the stairs leading to the main entrance of Suria KLCC (outside). Then made our way to the open air setup stage that we thought we saw yesterday right opposite Avenue K, which coincidentally was also in front of KLCC entrance. Turned out this wasn’t the exact venue..more like Celcom promoting their X-Pax simcards. Asked the securities and they answered it’s located deep into the KLCC park, right in front of ExonMobile building..where Farah performed the day before. So it’s the same place after all. Made our way to the mushy grasses still moist from the rain..made my entire Camel shoes filthy. There were still many spaces left in between down the audiences area..probably more are on the way. Not being racist or anything but the crowd here are 90% Malays..which we felt weird trying to cheer for Daniel & Nita..they most probably don’t watch MI anyway. Surprised that 8TV/TV3 decided to air this place live instead of Astro. If that you-know-who fella came to sing here..arrgh..we’re totally nowhere standing against those AF maniacs.

Right behind, Adam & Marion were seen doing some shootings for 8TV..just a short announcement to the viewers at home that live telecast being broadcasted from here.Took a few pics of them too.

Ostro suggested we that we head over to Sg. Wang instead..cos the celebration there’d be more livelier. Wasted no time, we walked all the way to Bukit Bintang..sensed a little drizzling starting but didn’t bother more of it. In the midst of it, got a call from Patrik..tricked me that he was around the place somewhere looking at me..but actually drove passed me couple of seconds ago LOL. Finally reached..and boy..the crowd here’s way bigger and happening than KLCC. We made a trail and squeeze our ways through the deafening and loud chirping crowds, blowing their whistles and some spraying party foams everywhere..tried to evade them as much as possible. But then the crowd was just too uncontrollable. So we decided to check out Times Square instead..at the same time, probably could bump into kai ma n kai yeh who were staying there for the night.

At the entrance to Times Square, they had set a stage over the right hand corner of the building. A guy distributing 2 four digit numbers to each individual at the sideway, said that there were gonna be lucky draws later after 12am. Lingered here for hours..undecided where to return to KLCC or Sg. Wang for the countdown. At the same time waiting for Evonc who was up above Kai ma & kai yeh’s room and couple of more friends. Priest wanted to go back to KLCC but majority of hands said they were not willing to walk the treacherous way back there again..I wouldnt mind seriously but seeing as the only two of us, I didn’t want anymore as I’d rather be with the crowd. Told him to come back here after their performances..leaving his bag in my possession.

As everyone finally gathered around, decided to go back to Sg.Wang. Bought about 10 cans of party foam spray (RM2 per bottle..reasonable though). Started spraying at Ostro LOL..Supposed to save it for the countdown but somehow started a little..cos overexcited. Once we got into the humoungous crowd at Sg. Wang, that’s when the chaos begin…in every direction came the foams flying about..’attacking’ one another. Tried my best to avoid as much as I can..but we knew very well that’s not possible LOL. Got soaked with foam all over my body..from head to toe.. How many times? Barely countable. Everyone just sprayed at each other like nobody’s business. The pleasure, fun and excitement all exudes from myself..even though having to get filthy (New Year leh..don’t give a damn lah..charge!! XD), totally worth it. They kept on coming and coming…foams flying all over..left right centre. Even they was one person spraying from the overhead bridge linking the Lot 10 to Sg. Wang. It was madness everywhere..and we’re caught right in the middle of it LMAO. It’s just too bad priest couldn’t come here on time to witness what we are going through..Well he had to countdown there alone instead.

5 minutes till the new year steps into our life…30 seconds…10 seconds…6 seconds…5….4…..3…..2…..1 WOOHOO!!!!! YAY!!!! HAPPY NEW YEAR 2006!!! Fireworks esploded high above the sky, enlighting the darkness with beautiful colours of glitters. More cheers, screams, horns, whistles and foams eloped as more fireworks bombarded. Thank god I got my handy camera phone to record the 5 minute display..really it was such an awesome sight watching the playback over and over again. Last shower of fireworks went up the sky. We jumped happily..wishing everyone..hugging and shaking hands. At this point, my hp rang and surprisingly Mel got thru admist the jamming packed lines, wishing me happy new year from everyone back at Sitiawan. Was screaming in the phone as I can barely hear myself speak with the crazy banging crowd at the background.

Finally we freed ourselves from the sardine-packed crowd and headed back to Times Square and they’ve started announcing the lucky draw numbers. Took out each of the numbers collected earlier..eagerly waiting with patient..hoping for a strike. Priest called..finally getting through after which I tried tens of times calling him. Said he’s in Sg. Wang, so I told him to make his way back here at Times Square in front of the stage. It was super slow waiting the numbers to be called out one after another..looking for the lucky person who has that number. Repetitive callings on all 4 digits. Mel called again and I heard Pey Tsei talking on the other side..wishing me new year again. The gals couldn’t stand waiting any longer so they went to Starbucks for drink while the guys wait. The last number was called but we still hadn’t had the luck of bringing back anything so walked up ahead to meet them. Got another call from priest with bad news..he lost his wallet while calling earlier on..was so shocked to hear that..how’s that possible. Then he told me he took out his wallet and placed it by the side while calling me..unawared that some guy snatched it without his knowledge. Terrible, what’d his parents say man? Sure kena scolding gau gau man…thank god didn’t bring much money..but the documents..especially his ATM card and most important, his IC..it takes great trouble to go through all the processes again. I told him to get back here at Starbucks, we’ll make a report ASAP. While waiting for him, I ordered ice blended Mocha. 10 minutes passed and he’s still not here. Got up from my chair and was about to look around when he suddenly appeared behind me, a really troubled look across his face. We immediately left and went to the police station opposite the Pudu jail. Once we got there, the officers on guard told us to go to Dangi Wangi HQ for report of missing items. Priest was thinking of walking all the way there, which is so impossible as it’s near the Merdeka stadium..which is not a mere distance leh. We have to take cab there, even if it’s double rate. Thank god it wasn’t really expensive..RM4. What bad luck to usher the new year by losing a waller…sigh. Done police report, there was a monorail station nearby..sat on and went straight back to PJ. Then gotta drive him back to Subang. Got back about 3am, took a little rest and cleaned my entire body after being plagues by those foams. What an up and down of a new year.
