Happy Bday Kai Yeh! ;)
Friday, December 9th, 2005Last Sat was a big day for our dearest kai yeh…yes..you guessed it right..it’s his birthday. Well it wasn’t exactly on the day but we’ve threw him a birthday party in surprise on this particular day to everyone’s convenient. Last years MI Vick & Victor will be attending too. LOL thanks to Kai Ma’s tactics, he doesn’t even know or suspect a single thing of it.
It’s Pikom PC fair week at KL Convention Center…I needed a DVD burner to my collection. Copying gigs of files to CDs ain’t a solution. Imagine the no. of CDs I had to spend in this manner. At the same time, could do the Australian Idol season 3 that Melv & Kenny requested months ago. Decided to get one less than RM200.
Waited for priest & his dad at Universiti station. All this while, PC Fair has always been held in PWTC..gotta find where the Convention Center was. Much to my surprise, it’s just outside the KLCC fountain park, walk all the way to the right is a newly built glass concept building. Ah..new discovery LOL.
This building could actually a perfect place to have the MI auditions..if it wasn’t for the tight budget..a waste though. Searched through the halls and I came to stop at this Lite-On boot. Of all I’ve surveyed, this has the cheapest DVD burner…RM177. Bought it and 20 DVD-Rs and a DVD-RW for a total of RM222. Priest got his CD-Rom here too at the same time. We walked to the exit when we passed this banner that said "Gift redemption for purchase of more than RM200". We asked the guard as to where the redemption counter was and he pointed that we have to leave the buliding and walk all the way to the entrance. We did as he said but down at the counter, the receptionist told me that my resit should be printed and not a handwritten resit..I was a little annoyed why hadn’t they given me a printed resit when I bought the burner earlier. Asked by right it’s still valid since I did bought the stuffs for more than RM200..but the receptionist insisted that I had to get the printed resit from that booth. Wth…not giving up my gift, priest & I made a dashing for another big round to the same booth again and demanded for the printed resit. Left the place immediately and back to the counter. Redeemed 10 pieces of CD-Rs from Pikom. All the rushing and hurrying made us tired..sat down at a corner to rest for a while first before we made our move back into KLCC complex. It’s already almost 5pm. Kai yeh’s birthday party begins at 7pm in Sungai Wang. We tried getting a bus to Sungai Wang but none seemed to be going there. Couldn’t wait any longer, we decided to grab a cab instead.
Sharply at 6pm, there’s a small event held outside the entrance opposite Lot 10…for the benefits of HIV/AIDS organisation. Daniel would make a guest performance here so Kai Yeh & Kai Ma would definitely be there (knowing how avid fans were they LOL). At first we thought it was inside Sungai Wang when we saw Ray & Raymond standing there but no one else around (Thought was weird..what happened to the crowd and everything? Only then realised it’s outside aiyoh..) And I happened to bump into Kheng Jun whom I’ve hardly met since in college. Told me he found a job at Shah Alam and that if I need one later, he’d recommend me. Cool. Saw Kai Yeh standing slightly in front…almost greeted him when Kai Ma called me from behind. She informed us to wait at Marche World Cafe..that’s where it’s been held.
I hurried and went to get Kai Yeh a card (paiseh..if not I didn’t have anything to give to kai yeh then LOL) while priest went to help me look for Nikki’s CD (yes, I still failed to get it, no thanks to someone). Finally found a suitable card, now to look for the cafe, which I have no idea which level it was. Asked the info counter where it was..pointed me to go straight, turn left and I would see the big sign above. Madam Wong Cafe it read. Wat crap…that sesat fella lead me to the wrong cafelah. No choice..called priest..only to tell that it’s located at the highest level..swt…all the searching and running made me really did swt like mad…
Thank god I found the place..Ray, Raymond & priest already there..was more like going for a search hunt looking for this cafe..slumped to a seat to ease my hurting leg after all the running..Had to scribble some wishes on the card immediately before kai yeh arrives. Minutes passed, the usual turned up, Michael, Jo, Uptowndragon and his gf, Teng, Boon Cheong and another gal which I’m not familiar with. Vick, Victor, Ostrova & Evonc visible soon after. Most important person should arrive the latest LOL.
Finally, in the distance, Kai Ma & Kai Yeh together with their children and 2 maids arrived. Someone initiated the birthday song and we started singing as they made their ways into a section made specially for his birthday. As we sat down and enjoyed our dinner, the deejay hosting and playing musics..get a load to this..he spoke real fluent Cantonese and Mandarin but the twist was..he’s totally not a Chinese but an Indian. We stared in amazement how fluent he spoke a language which everyone perceived he wouldn’t understand. Chances are so minor but there’s the possiblity that you would encounter such unique people. Most probably due to the environment they brought up, best describes it.
Took a number of pics with everyone, the centre of attraction of course, was kai yeh and no surprise Vick & Victor as well. The deejay requested both of them to sing for the cafe. Only Vick sang as when he (the deejay) called out for Victor, he was away (in the toilet I heard LOL).
After dinner, Vick suggested to go karaoke at Red Box in the upper level. I wouldn’t mind joining them, even though it’s already 2am plus hehe..how bad I’m staying back and ended home late. Luckily Vick’s friend offered me a ride home..about 5am..and I showered and washed my hair at the wee hours of the morning!!
