Kam Zhi Yuk Yip a blast!
The War & Beauty performance on Friday nite were definitely great and memorable. Mum & I left the house at 3pm, had dinner early at Gohtong Jaya before reaching atop Genting about 6pm. Mum’s friend had offers of VIP seats which costs RM200 each tickets, which was so lucky of us as we informed her last minute (which she still managed to get them). Crowd in Arena Stars was huge..I’d say a strong 6,000 fans. The show started off with Bowie Lam & Gigi Lai in traditional clothings belting the ending theme song. One by one, they introduced the other casts…Moses Chan, Charmaine Sheh (Aww..), Maria Chen and Wai Ka Hong.
First up to perform was Bowie with War & Beauty’s theme song. Next came Moses Chan with a string of famous Cantonese medleys..Maria Chen took over the stage who sang two songs. She called out Wai Ka Hong and they both dueted Stand By Me. Next, Ka Hong did a Wu Bai song solo. The biggest cheer for the night was none other than the ever stunning Charmaine Sheh. While she got down to greet the fans in the VIP area singing Faye Wong’s hit song..forgot the title in Cantonese though, she was mobbed greatly by the fanatic audiences LOL. Her responses were by the far the wildest as the fans pushed their ways to photograph and cam her..they even went to the extent of pulling her hair! She screamed a few times for that XD XD XD. Her next song was Sandy Lam’s famous song..which was the soundtrack from Chow Yun Fatt’s Anna & The King and my personal favourite song..no idea what was title LOL.
Gigi Lai replaced Charmaine later and last up for the night was Bowie with a hippie and plain outfit..pair of sunglasses, few button collar shirt and a pair of jeans. He did a fast song which got some of the crowd to groove along with him. Finally, to wrap up the stage for the night, all 6 appeared again and sang a dance track song. When they greeted goodbyes to the crowd. Many of them wanted encore..hoping that grouping around the stage even after it screaming and screaming would get them out for a final time. They never did appear, guess the shout wasn’t loud enough LOL.
