Hang out at 1 U

Monday, October 31st, 2005

On Saturday, received sms from priest to pick him up from Arena Sports Complex opposite the Assunta Hospital. Plan was to get to Sin Chew Jit Poh to check out Daniel where he’s doing charity-raising for the recently burned 2 year-old victim. We’re practically late for almost an hour so by the time we got there, Daniel had left the scene. Then priest called Daniel to find out his whereabouts. He’s having lunch there, so we went there too (LOL no we had no intentions to stalk him but anyway we never bumped into him) at the rear end coffeeshop.

After lunch, we decided to go to priest’s place to lepak before we proceed to 1U. Ostrova and the gang are still in Red Bok karaoke-ing as a celebration for his 20th birthday. Even sempat caught an episode of a new TVB drama about a luxurious hotel where you have those typical power-hunger domination again starring Ron Ng Cheok Hei, Kenix Kwok Ho Ying and Joe Ma Tak Chung. It’s really cool movie, it’s gonna take a pretty much long time for Wah Lai Toi have it on as War & Beauty was just slotted very recently. Left for 1 U at about 4pm.

Omg…can’t imagine the amount of congestion on the way. Thought with Deepavali and Raya at the corner, mostly would have gone back their hometowns to celebrate but the way I saw, cars on the street didn’t really change much. Met Ostrova, Yumi, Teng, Yen, Evonc and another gal which I didn’t know her name at Tower Records. Crazy Teng bought few more Daniel’s singles for safekeeping in case any of the Daniel fans couldn’t find anymore LOL. We were sort of hoping to catch Corpse Bride but eventually we spent the rest of the afternoon chit-chatting at Burger King before the Top 3 performances at 8.30pm. Finrod smsed pula to check on us. Well, if he had transportation in the first place, he could have joined us…but turned out he could have joined us had he came straight from college instead of going back since we weren’t sure we’re gonna be at 1 U earlier..Oh well..what the heck..

Fareesya joined us a little later at Burger King. Somewhere at a distance outside the fast food entrance, we saw all these group of teens dressed in goth with sparks of hair dyed purple (Errghh..reminds me of Lee Harding from the current Australian Idol 3). Apparently, it was a sort of meeting as they stood there pretty long before it dispersed. Well, they certainly got our attention and everyone walking by.

Then there was sort of an exciting topic that I brought up regarding about Daniel that someone observed questioned about his sexuality (yes the queer thingy) and boy it became really hot and our table became the noisiest..At that point, everyone started relating their stories about gay people they’ve met. Ostrova brought up the PLU term which only the gay communites would be familiar (which I shouldn’t reveal what it meant here if you don’t already know LOL) and Teng started calling him a gay. LMAO…was so damn funny man at the moment..obviously Ostrova denied that but the weirdest thing is the ‘gay’ word was being mentioned so damn loud that I believed every table around us clearly heard it and there we are still debating on the topic like no other business..LOL..our table became one of the noisiest and we shared all the attraction in the restaurant…but we all came out conclusion that gays are still human and that we should respect them anyhow like we respect each other. So their lifestyles doesn’t really comprehend with ours but that doesn’t mean we should totally condemn or shun them.

As clock approaches 8pm, more and more people, mostly gals dressed in pink are seen in the restaurant. Yup, many of them are clear signs of Daniel supporters who are anxiously waiting for the show.

As we headed to the stage at New Wing, I couldn’t believe my eyes when I saw so many people piling around the stage. I see pink people. Yes. You heard right. People with pink attires are scattered all around the stage, with a nifty Daniel banner at one sight. There was even a cute little boy in front me holding his single while decending the elevator! Whoa..the manias..the hype..Daniel really had a huge impact on the teeny bopper gals. We tried to squeeze ourselves at the very right side of the stage, clearly wasn’t a good location as the speakers were facing directly at us. Met with Kenny, Uptown, Kai ma kai yeh and their children and even Daniel’s parents are there too. Later, we spotted Kuaci from above making his way down with a new haircut and oh..he had the Farahnatics t-shirt on.

When the show finally began, Farah was up first singing Siti’s Percayalah. She also mentioned about Jac emerging as the winner at the Voice Of Asia held at Shanghai a couple of days ago and we all cheered. She got too excited she forgot she had to sing 2 more songs but instead called out for Nita. Nita performed Get Here from the workshops. Then Farah came back to greet the crowd and apologised for her little blunder..LOL aww..she’s ever so sweet. She sang Kembali Lagi Di Sisimu and Gemilang. Her voice never failed to impress us. We grouped and shouted "We Luve U Farah!" 2 times after her song and she acknowledged us with a smile ;). Nita returned, priest shouted for her to sing Big Spender but too bad they didn’t have the t-minus track prepared. She took on Hati Ini Telah Dilukai and finally Fame.

Next, as soon as Daniel stepped in, the crowd really really went wild. The crowd located in the centre of the stage who were sitting all the while all stood up and lunged forward to the stage man!! 3 securities stoodby and held on before they could proceed any further. Thank god. Screams of ‘Daniel!’ and cameras all held forward, not missing even a blink of it watching their Idol performed, or so the anxiety of these mostly consist of teeny boppers. Daniel kicked it with Angin Malam, then with Heaven Knows, the song he sang during his audition in Penang. Of course, the peak of the show was Daniel with his winning single, Mimpi. Everyone was anticipated, even myself as I really like the song. However, the mic seemed to have a slight problem with the interference towards the end. Looks as it was ending, Farah & Nita appeared and sang along with him. The crowd was satisfied as due to the mic problem, it sort of ended too abrupt. The wanted more and majority shouted "Encore". They brought out chairs and table for the autography signing session and in no time, the crowd rushed to the line. All I can say is..the line was superbly long..and the number of people bringing his single to sign, his CD is selling well. Mmmhmm, that’s the power of Idol. He might not have the best voice in the comp, but the x-factor that this people sees in him was enough to transform him into a celebrity within the duration of 3 months.

Lecture

Friday, October 28th, 2005

Surprisingly Patrik gave a call to accompany him for dinner..since his friend apparently FFKed him. Went to this HK style cafe in SS2, the price was rather decent..most of the dishes branded the most only about RM6.50. So nice of him to treat me (salary recently released so yeah). He was telling me stuffs about his new environment at his job place, how the pressure came almost strangling him breathless immediately when he was assigned a project. The burden was that of a 1 tonne anvil, according to him. Upon hearing that, I wasn’t very shock to say the least but rather felt curious of why a newly recruited architect for the company like him was embedded straight away with a heavy duty project. He hardly had time to even adapt to the situation let alone ponder the benefit of doubt. Well as we went on and on, the conversation made a big 360 degree and the center of attraction was on me. Usually, when it comes to personal expression, I have little..not little but almost nothing to say..(I’m a sad case aren’t I? =/)

Anyway the ‘lecture’ was really promising and I don’t think I could elaborate it here..best if it’s kept between us. Thanks by the way, I’ll remember that =).

Idols Raya Show recording

Thursday, October 27th, 2005

Few days ago on Monday, The Top 11 Idols had their recording sessions again for the Hari Raya show on Nov 3th. Hehe..I’m still pretty unsure of the route to Plaza Alam Sentral so had to ask priest to lead the way, but this time someone else is picking him up. I tailed him from the back. I met a couple of new faces especially Sookru, kylikoly (sp?) and syafali from the forum. Noticed Ariz and Ostrova had the Farahnatics shirt on. I brought mind too, will be wearing it when the recording begins.

The show ended about 11.30pm after a couple of retakes by some of the Idols. Actually, I was hoping Daniel to sing Mimpi for the closing act like Jac did with Gemilang last year but zlich. Kinda disappointed.

As usual, mamaking session again after the photographing session with the Idols. Farah was too tired to join us as she rushed back from Johor to SP2 and she had some stuffs on the next day as well. We only had Azam, Adam, Faizull & Atilia with us in the mamak stall. No idea where the rest went though. Everybody adjourned about 1am plus.

Doom: Review (contain spoilers)

Thursday, October 27th, 2005

Adrian wasn’t free, so were my cousins..manage to drag Yu to MidValley to watch the show with me. It’s free so he wouldn’t mind coming all the way from Setapak. Show was 10.30 am, yeah it was rather early and I’m not an early person myself..miraculously I woke up early that day, instead Yu was late. When we got to our seats, seriously…the cheapskate doesn’t end here..the seats are located 2 rows from the screen!!! OMG…you’ve gotta be kidding me..but no, it’s the correct number, correct letter..well screw it. So we tilted our heads say, about 45 degrees more than the usual posture of watching a movie..go figure.

I’d say Doom was a great movie. Totally potrayed what we played in the game. It’s really worth a watch, no one shouldn’t watched it. And I totally disagreed with the review written in today’s NST paper where many of the elements..which I don’t recalled what it was left out. They dared compare this show to Resident Evil & RE: Apocalypse! And that the latter is better?? So BS. Don’t get me wrong, Resident Evil is my all time favourite game in the world but the movie sucked big time man!!!! (At least RE: Apocalypse redeemed a little of the glorious title) Doom had all the effects which a gamer’s perspective could feel (unlike RE). I was even amused they threw in the 1st person shooter view of Reaper killing the monsters. I mean..that’s awesome k! That scene (plus the treacherous fight with The Rock) was inaugarally one of the best. The only downside was the lack of love scene..which they wasn’t any at all in the movie. LOL Yu was always hoping for that.

For the first time, I was thinking The Rock would end up as the hero of the movie but the outcome proved otherwise. And the other character, Reaper (Karl Urban), wow he displayed a really macho side of himself. To me, he sort of overshadowed The Rock in the movie.

Depavali Nite ‘05 at KBU

Thursday, October 20th, 2005

Kanesh invited Dina & I to his college’s Deepavali Nite today. Arrived slightly late, we got in just in time for the event to begin. I looked at the food on the table and was a little surprised with only 3 dishes. Hehe..sorrylah Kanesh..you said they’d be more and only 3 ah? But still okay nonetheless the 3 dishes. They basically had traditional Indian dances, some hip hop and a few band performances. I remembered that the band vocalist who sang White Stripes’ Seven Nation Army..aiyoh..he lost his cue and was out of synclah throughout the song LOL. Later when he sang I have no idea what’s the title, that was also very pitchy. The guy you said was your brother-in-law, the one who sang behind the speech stand? That was patheticlah..it’s like singing karaoke-ish and instead of looking at the tv. There’s the 4 dancers later with Alleycats-influence hairstyle. Like their dance pretty much and actually what’s with the wigs ler..XD. There were lucky draws but we didn’t win anything.

Dina said he has to leave at 10.30pm and since I drove him here, I had to leave with him. Overall, the nite was okay..but the biggest letdown is the foodlah..we paid RM30 to expect this amount food ah? Not even desserts. My apologies, Kanesh.

Ceria bersama…rumah Farah ;D

Thursday, October 20th, 2005

The night before someone uploaded Daniel’s Mimpi in mandarin in the forum, listened to it and thought it really suited him well, a nice chinese-style ballad called ‘fei’ in mandarin which means fly. Err..I thought they’d translate to ‘meng’ which means mimpi in mandarin which they totally alter it. Whatever LOL as long as it’s great to listen at. I was hoping to catch it on MyFm or 988 but it didn’t turn up.

Anyway at 3pm, gotta go pick up priest at Taman Paramount station to Farah’s house. While on the way, I flipped the channels between MyFm and 988 and voila..they finally played it. Smsed Mel to inform to her friends about it cos her friends (except her LOL) are Daniel’s fanatic fans. Suddenly I can’t wait to get teh single. A guy like me who isn’t really interested in Mandarin songs liked this one so much LOL. It’ll be my current favourite track for the time being.

Rain was pouring like mad along the way. We stumbled into some difficulty searching for Farah’s bungalow. Jln Aminuddin Baki..Jln Aminuddin Baki…manalah..all we’re seeing are Amithapan and Baharuddin Helmi..till we found that road sign at one end of the street and Farah’s house at the corner.

It was still raining rather heavily, so we quickly dashed our way to the main door when suddenly Yumi appeared with a cake,"SURPRISE!!!". I was taken aback by it..LOL it was suppose to be meant for priestlah but I went for the door first instead so they thought it was him XD XD XD. By the way, wishing him sweet 16 again here ;).

Whoa..her house is really really beautiful, memang wealthy her family..ceh wah hehe. Farah came out from the kitchen, hugged me and priest and wished him happy birthday as well. They bought a little cake for priest. Once he’d blown the candles, the smacking began hehe..pity priest cake smeared all over his face by Fareesya..hard to wash off cos it’s oily sumore LOL. Anyway actually the mini meetover was to prepare a birthday surprise for Ostrova next Saturday. Hehe..can’t reveal what it was here..in case he himself decided to pop in here to check and found out about it..

Farah had cooked for us sphagetti and aww..was so nice of her considering it’s still the puasa month and she couldn’t eat with us. We helped ourselves out with the food, chit chatted and hung around till about 7pm before we left. Evonc dropped us at taxi stand in 1U, we both waited to catch a cab there to Kelana Jaya station.

I gotta say…Fareesya is so sporting, outgoing and her personality is just wonderful for the fact she’s only 11.

At Seoul Bulgogi Restaurant..with the Farahnatics!!

Monday, October 17th, 2005

Today’s the big day to meet up with Farah and of course the Farahnatics. Hours before 6.30pm, I was watching Land Of The Dead on DVD (yeah I know…why the heck of all films I watched this), boy George Romero never failed to impress with his high-speed gory stuff. The good old but more advance bite your arms with the bloody muscle attached still kept into his ever stlye of creating zombie movies. Anyway, couldn’t get to the ending on time cos need to prepare myself as the clock stuck its shorter needle at 9 and longer needle at 5 (5.45pm in other words)

Dad brought me to the LRT station when suddenly priest smsed me his that bus just reached the Asia Jaya station. I wasn’t exactly sure where the restaurant was so when I got down, every shops around are closed. I was like, is this the right place? Then I walked outside the building, I found only 1 restaurant opened. I thought in my mind so that must be it. But funny I don’t see Ostrova anywhere cos he wrote on the forum that he and Chris would be standing outside to collect our money before we enter. Called him only to find out that he and Evonc lost their way and overshot to the Kerinchi highway LOL. As I entered the restaurant, I saw a couple of them who were already here, mainly Chris, Michael, Lai lai, Melv and the rest I have no idea who they were.

Time passed, more and more Farahnatics started showing up and finally Farah herself arrived. She waved and greeted everyone of us with an ever so sweet smile and we all responded back ;).

Frankly, this was my first time eating Korean BBQ style so I was rather awkward of how the cooking goes..I observed around first before I stuffed the raw meats into the steaming pot..hehe…paiseh after I cooked the wrong stuff into the wrong material XD.

Food…yummy

Later when everyone had a fully-filled tummey, Farah suggested that we played a game of Ice-breaker. Each and everyone who turned up had to introduce themselves, state their real name, their nick in the forum, how old are they and what are their proudest achievement. When it was my turn, my body was actually shivering a little as I have stage phobia. I can’t seemed to get rid of my nervousness..probably because of my lack of social skills in public :/. After that, we had a trivia quiz session where all the questions are related to Farah. A few examples which they brought up were;

1. What was Farah’s full name?

2. She had a song recorded in an album in the past. What was the song title and album called?

3. What diploma did Farah obtained from LKW institute?

And I even had the chance to ask a question..which was What was Farah’s title track in the MI 2 compilation album (Sshh..I asked that question, I sendiri forgot the answer LOL)

As a token of appreciation to the Farahnatics, Farah had specially made us a little chain with our names etched on it which read Farahnatic followed by our names. Attached to it was also a little message thanking our continuous support.

Then it was the Farahnatics t-shirt distribution. Check out the front and back of the designed made by arjuna. It’s really cool.

It’s already 10.30pm. Restaurant’s about to close. We really had such a great time with Farah, mingling with the other members and it was really heart-warming to have such an event. I cherished every moment of it. We lingered outside the restaurant chatting, shaking hands, taking pictures etc.

Ooh, did I mention Fareesya, Farah’s sister was such a darling and sporting gal. She’s so joyful, laughing every second and she really enjoyed herself very much with us. Luv her to bits. The silly ballet dance with Euric, that was hilarious man.. XD XD XD

Dscn0900

The next Jennifer Lopez & Richard Gere? LOL

Oh, before I end the story, we obviously took a large group photo with Farah. LOL imagine Mickey and Chris had to take turns snapping up pics what with the 20 over cameras on the table!

Farahgathering0ej

"Smell everyone!" as quoted by Mickey LOL

Here’s a tremoundous thank you to Ostrova, Mickey and Chris for organising the gathering with great effort and all the Farahnatics present. You guys made the gathering a success. ;). And of course, to our dear Farah as well..=D

Farah…oh Farah…;P

Saturday, October 15th, 2005

Farah’s gathering tonight at Seoul Bulgogi, so can’t wait for it. Heard it’s gonna be 30 over people, wah..crowded place for a not so huge restaurant. Haven’t been there, all hearsay.

Went out for dinner with Kanesh and his brother, thought Dina was going to be at his grandma’s place but turned out he’s busy studying at home. Aiseh. After dinner, wanted to crash-gate at Ka Ken’s place.. not at home pula. Whole family went back to Ipoh..Where’s everybody when you need to hang out for once??

Doom: The Movie

Friday, October 14th, 2005

Went to redeem a pair of tickets for this movie at Menara Star this morning. By the time I reached, queue stretched out to the porch. Walau..I was only late 5-10 minutes, FOC stuffs are so dog eat dog world out there LOL. The tix looked like this; (Mel don’t look, nanti jealous pula hehe)

Dscn0856

Ceh…cheapskate people, time and seat have been set. The last time I remembered I went there to redeem Jackie Chan’s New Police Story and the tix allows to watch anytime you want withing the allocation time period. Getting more and more stingy. Haven’t decided who to watch it, but I’m thinking of calling Adrian. Hopefully he’s free next Sat morning though.

After that, mum & I went to the all branded warehouse sale in Section 14. Bought 2 genuine leather belts (1 for myself and 1 for dad’s upcoming birthday next week), 1 genuine leather wallet, 1 Timberland sweater, 1 pair of Marco Polo shoes and mum for herself a Time Main watch. It’s worth it really, all these are sold at leaast 50% cheaper than the retailers outside (hence warehouse duh..)

Got home about 1 plus and we cooked spaghetti again ;). We were still keeping one instant packet left, gotta finish it fast cos I think expiration date could be very soon. The sauce came out really well..thick and beautiful (Well after several attempt previously it turned out watery and number of trial and errors did the job). However the noodle sight turned out too much water. Fill in 1/2 as much of water to boil, add 2 table spoons of butter, 125ml of fresh milk and finally the spaghetti and voila! The outcome;

Dscn0848

LOL..yeah how awkward it is to capture a pic of a bowl of spaghetti?! XP

It tasted really delicious. Took every spoon passionately, devouring the juciy sauce and scrunchy noodle..oh you just gotta savour that every moment hehe..ok I’ll stop..making you guys drooling already ;P

Half and hour later…poof!;

Dscn0849

Just realised ntv7 slotted Survivor: Guatemala at the very last moment. So those asshole finally brought it back huh? After totally ditching Palau..had to get to the internet to watch it. Well at least saves me 1 task of downloading on the net every week.

Secret admirer

Wednesday, October 12th, 2005

Woke up with a bad bad cold today. I can’t help but felt satisfied when I read Huoy Feng’s blog about the 2 pics I sent to her by mail last week. LOL she was thanking me all over that entry, clearly showing she loved Daniel to bits XD. She brought the pics to school pula to show to her friends, turned out from there, I got a new secret admirer (1 of the pics was taken with Daniel & I) whom I received 2 miscalls this morning. I suspected it must be a friend of HF and Mel as the number hails from Perak. Yup, she admitted that they gave them my number..LOL it’s kinda weird though, but then again it’s good. ;)

Talking about the bad cough, that caused me to break my mum’s teapot cover just now..when I was sneezing like mad and I didn’t grasp the water boiler steadily, I accidentally bumped the cover over. Bad, bad scolding from mum. She told me to take hot water earlier but never listened. Paid heavily with a sound worst than bee’s buzzer.
